This rifle is Masada, which I saw on future weapons a few years ago and wanted one right away. So cool that is getting mass produced. Apparently, they are in so high demand that the few that are out now are being auctioned off on gunbroker for 10k +. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJhPMIVg ... re=related

Quote:
The rifle was originally named after the Siege of Masada. Magpul company literature about the rifle states that, "Magpul Industries is not Jewish owned or Israeli backed, however Magpul has always found the story of the Masada as a bold example of defiance."
Having been to Masada, I think this is a cool name and they should have stuck with it.

If someone has to "take one for the team" I think I can "volenteer" and "suffer the pain" for the DaC team.

Hmmmm....they appear to retail for 3k. Bummer. Not sure how I can hide that from the Mrs. That will take quite a few months of socking stuff away to cover so might be awhile till I could get one.

I hope you are happy Dash. You got me all excited and now I feel sad and disappointed :(

My plan was to have one by the lan. With the release date on the 1st (at best) I don't know if I can find a dealer who will have one in stock so I may also be sad and disapointed. Btw, I found .223 ammo for $330 per 1k rounds... is that a good price? I had hoped to get 2 of these, but with the 3k price tag I may only get one....

Lastly, Thy I am going to get it in .223 and then get the 6.8 parts so I have it in both calibers.

I dont know the brand you are talking about but normally the cheapest .223 you can find is some type of Wolf Brand. That sounds like a fair price if it is Wolf. You can generally find Wolf at around $300-350 per 1k rounds.

If its a more well known brand like Remington, Federal, etc than I would consider it a steal :)

Ive mostly fired Wolf outta my AR and AK and never had a problem with it.

p.s. 2? Plan on duel wielding them or something? Heh!

Just FYI the turtle log has migrated to a farther point away from the lodge due to the swelling of the lake. The red mist of turtle wonderishness will require more skill than before. Maybe if I can get this darn ACR before march 5th we can sight it in at the lodge and do some turtle deshelling.

http://dsgarms.com/index.cfm/category/157/rifle.cfm - check out the ammo here, I am thinking of making a large puchase. They don't do pick up its order and mail out only. If someone wants to add on to my order let me know.

I really wanted to get a P90 but the funky ammo turned me off. Even with the steep price this looks more affordable to shoot (cheaper ammo). I am not crazy like Dash though and will actually wait a while for the price to come down.

Been calling dealers all morning.

I got a quote today for $2,600.00 (prob going to be cheaper after a few months) for the enhanced version. Bushmaster has MSRP at $3,026.00. The only catch is, they don't know when they are going to get one :( . They said they will be on the lookout and when one comes in they will let me know.... Being the patient person you all know me to be, I am now on hold with Bushmaster. I am going to drop the "I own a outdoor TV show" AKA I am in media so get me one of these to review/use on my show so you get good press, right now please :!:

******Update****** Well the enhanced version won't be ready to ship untill MAY 1st. They can ship a normal one on or near March 1st but thats not what I want.... :( So it appears that no exploding turtles with an ACR at the next lan.... Maybe I should go buy a Barrett .50 just to alievate the pain and frustration.

I did hear FN is releasing the SCAR for civilians very soon (maybe out already) so all you low ranking people could have a firearm to shoot as well.
